148Apps Unveils GiggleApps – A Parent’s Guide to the Best iPhone Apps

San Francisco, CA – Today, 148Apps announces the launch of GiggleApps, a site providing iPhone application reviews of the best educational and entertaining apps for kids of all ages. Geared toward parents searching for the best kid-friendly apps, GiggleApps focuses on educational and entertaining applications ranging from toddlers to teens, but also includes apps for parents and users of all ages.

“148Apps and I created GiggleApps with a common goal to create a forum to help parents make educated decisions on which apps to download for their children,” said Kristen Young, editor and head writer of GiggleApps. “The site helps parents sort through the many apps designed for children, highlighting the best apps for education, entertainment, and expression.”

The inspiration for GiggleApps stems from the number of apps developed for children and the lack of information existing about which apps are successful educational tools. Young, an avid iPhone user and mother, saw the need firsthand for parents to be able to have a reliable resource for new educational tools and games.

The site provides guidance on using the iPhone or iPod Touch as an educational device. Both devices are expected to be popular holiday gifts this year, especially for kids. These devices are easy to understand with touch and accelerometer interaction which makes it a natural fit for children. The tools also come at a great price point for an educational device with limitless possibilities.
