Toronto, Ontario – North American-based training developer Infinite Skills Inc has just announced a free mobile app that offers software training to thousands of iPad users through the iTunes App Store. With free tutorials for dozens of the world’s most popular programs, the app has been designed to offer customers a convenient and exciting way to learn, the company said.

“The iPad and iOS are changing the way people interact with digital devices, and we want our training to be available to customers’ anywhere they’re ready to learn,” said Colin Boyd, sales director of Infinite Skills. “And the iPad is a perfect fit. We’ve found that viewers watch the tutorials on their iPads while following along on their computers.”

In the weeks the app has been available, it has received thousands of downloads, delivering streaming video tutorials to viewers around the world. The app features free demo content from Infinite Skills’ catalog of training videos, which includes courses on over three dozen of the most popular computer programs on the market, from those in the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office to industry-specific production tools such as Rhino 4 and Apple’s Final Cut Pro 7.

Each free lesson focuses on an individual task or feature of the application covered; animating a mask in Adobe Flash CS5, creating dynamic blocks within AutoCAD and correcting color casts in Photoshop CS5 are examples of tutorials viewers can access with the app. Most courses in the Infinite Skills training library are targeted toward beginning users, created with a focus on building fundamental skills and user confidence with practical lessons, according to Boyd.

“It’s really easy to get frustrated when first learning a program, and that’s where hands-on examples help the most. The tutorials in the iPad app cover a lot of common questions and should give viewers a good idea of what they can expect in our full training courses,” he said.

While all courses from Infinite Skills are currently available to order on DVD-ROM or via instant download from its website, the company has plans to release its entire catalog to the App Store. A full list of all courses currently produced by the company can be found on their website.
