Hello Vino is a wine pairing app. Whether you know a lot about wine and just want a suggestion or know little about wine and want to learn something, Hello Vino can help you with that. This app even works in reverse. If you have wine and need to know what would be good to eat with it use the reverse look up option. Once you have found your wine you can allow Hello Vino to tweet out your selection or post it to Facebook. All in all this is hands down the most useful wine app in the app store.

Given this application is free, I really cannot complain too much about it. It gives some basic wine and food pairing suggestion. It also tried to include some interesting features such as suggesting what wine to buy as gift for different occasions. The application also packed with basic wine information for wine in different country and region. However, I think the application over-simplified too much and there are also a lot of incorrect information. So, beware and don't trust information in this app without verifying yourself!

For a free application it is really awesome. I have used it for few months now and it does help out with so many things.

Curiously, only 51 of the wines I tasted during 2008 made my “honor roll” for top rank in quality and value; this is down from 56 top-QPR wines in 2007 and 60 the year befor that. While this trend isn’t large, it’s consistent enough to suggest that it’s becoming more and more difficult to find wines of true interest at “everyday” price points.
